News Reel from the 11/29/1947 SMU at TCU game. It is a film with radio audio. Bill Stern calls the game. SMU was led by the legendary Doak Walker who was only a sophomore at the time. TCU's coach Dutch Meyer was credited with the invention of the spread offense. TCU was .500 at the time of this season ending rivalry but as rivalries are fueled, they wanted nothing more than to spoil a perfect season for their arch rivals. In the end Doak Walker led a miracle rally to forge a tie. The Ponies dropped to 9-0-1 but still unbeaten and headed to the Cotton Bowl.
